Derrick Wilmore was hired in 2024 as the first head cross country coach for both men’s and women's at Clinton College. He is out recruiting future Golden Bear runners now and will get their inaugural season underway in the Fall of 2025.

Wilmore is a former Lincoln University track and field athlete and is a seasoned leader with a track record of coaching numerous state and national track and field qualifiers at Grand View High School, Germantown High School and Uplift Wisdom Prep School. This will be his second stint into collegiate athletics coaching, having first become the head track and field coach at Denmark Tech JC.

"I’m honored to be a part of the history we’re about to make with the first season of cross country. I plan to bring in a group of students who will represent CC to the fullest, both academically and athletically,” said Wilmore.
