
AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Clinton College volleyball team ousted NCCAA foe Paine College 3-1 on the road Monday evening in Augusta as they won their 4th match in their past five.
Clinton won by scores of 25-21, 25-9, 18-25, and 25-19 to improve to 11-9 overall and 3-0 in the NCCAA. Clinton totaled 41 kills in the match at a .182 clip along with 14 aces and 57 digs.
Junior OH Sierra Smith led the Bears with 17 kills and only 2 errors as she hit .300 for the match while also recording 12 digs for another double-double. Fellow OH Amoni Washington recorded 13 kills with just 3 errors to hit .244 with 2 digs and a block. Freshman setter Sierra Faulkner added 29 assists, 8 digs, 3 aces, 2 kills and 2 blocks in her all-around game while junior libero Love Landon registered 16 digs with 3 assists and 2 aces.
Freshman middle blocker Monica Burns also added six kills with six digs, 2 blocks, and an ace while senior DS Ashanti Washington compiled a season-high eight service aces, eight digs, and an assist.
The Golden Bears will next head to Spartanburg Methodist (SC) for a JV Match on Wednesday at 6 pm.
