Clinton Ousts Regent for 2nd Straight Win

NORFOLK, Va. - The Clinton College volleyball team rallied from a set down to oust NCCAA foe Regent University 3-1 on the road Saturday in Virginia.

The Lady Royals won the first set against the Bears 25-17 before Clinton rallied to take the second 25-21. CC then crushed RU in the third set 25-12 before holding off Regent 25-21 in the 4th for the win.

Clinton improves to 7-8 on the season while Regent falls to 3-7.

Schedule change : Clinton returns home now on Thursday evening to host NCCAA foe Paine College (GA) at 4:00 PM at the Rock Hill Sports & Events Center. The JV squad of Clinton will first play Denmark Tech at 3:00 pm.

The Lady Bears were led by another outstanding game from freshman middle hitter Monica Burns as she totaled 20 kills while hitting .447 with 4 digs, two blocks and an ace.

Freshman setter Sierra Faulkner recorded another double double tallying 36 assists and 12 digs with an ace and a kill while junior libero Love Landon posted 13 digs with two assists.

Junior outside hitters Amoni Washington and Sierra Smith also played well each recording a double double. Washington had 10 kills and 10 digs with a block and an ace while Smith had 10 kills, 21 digs and 2 assists.
