Clinton Women Stifle Bob Jones U.

ROCK HILL, SC - The Clinton College women's basketball team stifled NCCAA foe Bob Jones University (S.C.) 62-46 at home Wednesday night.

After trailing 16-13 after the first quarter, The Bears went on to outscore the Bruins 20-9 in the second quarter to take a 33-25 hafltime elad. They then held BJU to just 6 points in the third winning it 14-6 to lead 47-31 going into the fourth. The final period saw the teams tie at 15 apeice with Clinton going on for the win. 

CC shot just 27.5% overall and 18 percent from three, but held BJU to just 15 made baskets all game. However, even as the Bruins made 8 threes, they only made seven 2-pointers. The rebounding battle was close too at 46-44 while the Bears forced the Bruins into a staggering 45 turnovers.

Clinton was led by a season-high 19 points from guard Jabrica Leslie along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals while guards Kayla Pope and Jala Hutchins each scored 10 points apiece with Hutchins adding 6 assists and 6 steals. The Golden Bears totaled 27 steals on the night for a season-high as well.

Forwards Kourtney English and Diamond Moore-Heath then combined for 13 points, 16 rebounds, and 6 steals while Tameah Gaddis added 5 points, 6 steals, 2 assists and a block.

Clinton improves to 10-3 on the season and then went on the road to Sumter, SC on Saturday and defeated Morris College 60-49 for their 11th win.

The bears will enxt continue their road tirp on Monday night at Voorhees University for a 6 pm tip.
