
JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Clinton College women's basketball team rolled to an easy 45 point win over NCCAA foe, Trinity Baptist College on the road Tuesday evening. The Lady Bears won the first quarter 21-8 and posted 27 points in the second quarter to take a 48-26 hafltime lead.
A 25-13 third quarter then had the Bears up by 30 before taking the fourth as well 19-8 to win 92-47. Clinton shot 57 percent overall led by five players in double-figures including a team-high of 15 points from senior center Diamond Moore-Heath. She also added 4 rebounds and 4 assists while fellow forward Kourtney English added 10 points and 4 boards as well. Senior guard Kayla Pope also recorded 6 points, 4 assists and a steal off the bench.
Junior shooting guard Tameah Gaddis also scored 10 points with a team best 7 rebounds and 4 assists with 3 steals while fellow guard, Akiyonna Joiner posted 13 points and 4 assists off the bench. The 5th Golden Bear to finish in double digits was senior forward Symone Jackson as she had 10 points and 3 rebounds on 5 of 6 shooting while fellow forwards Emory Smith and Alaijah Kirk-Veal combined for 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.
CC held TBC (0-4) to under 28% shooting for the game and only 23 percent from three while out-rebounding the Lady Eagles 41-28 and forcing 17 turnovers.
The Lady Bears now improve to 5-0 on the season and will next return home to host Voorhees (SC) on Saturday at 3 PM.
