
ROCK HILL, SC - The Clinton College women's basketball team cruised to a 72-55 win over visiting NCCAA foe VU-Lynchburg from Rock Hill on Saturday.
The Lady Bears outscored the Dragons 20-11 in the first frame before taking a 37-27 lead into the break. Clinton then held VUL to just 8 points in the third en route to a 17-8 run and led 54-35 going into the fourth. The Bears shot 38 percent overall, but struggled from the free-throw line and 3-point arc.
CC put four women in double figures led by 17 from junior guard Tameah Gaddis on 7 of 13 shooting while fellow junior guard Jala Hutchins added 13 points with 12 rebounds and 4 assists to record her first double-double. Senior Center Diamond Moore-Heath also played well scoring 16 points with 8 boards and 2 steals while junior guard Jabrica Leslie chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Senior forward Kourtney English also added 5 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals in the win.
Clinton improves to 4-0 on the season and will next be on the road to face Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville Tuesday at 6PM before returning home Saturday.
