Clinton Men Split Games Last Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Clinton College men's basketball team split their two games last week, falling 91-82 Thursday at home to south region foe Fort Lauderdale before defeating Virginia Univ. of Lynchburg 103-55 on the road Saturday.

In the win over VUL, the Bears were led by four players in double-digit scoring as junior guard Jordan Snipes Campbell led the way with 15 points while forward Devinir Garvey added 14. Forward Cori Miller also added 12 points while forward Matthew Cleveland posted 9 points. Wing Zion Kemp also added 7 points while guards Jacobi Simpson, David Adyeri, Karter Allen and Jordan Maxwell all combined for 14 points.

In the loss to UFTL, Clinton led 37-36 at the halftime break but the eagles came soaring back to outscore the Bears in the second half 55-45 to pick up the 9-point win. Snipes Campbell again led th Bears wth 20 points and 3 assists while fellow guard Jordan Miller added 12 points. Forwards Garvey and Cleveland also each scored in double figures putting up 15 and 12 points respectively. Also scoring were guards Maxwell, Cori Miller and Taylan Hicks coimbining for 19 points.

 

Clinton falls to 8-6 overall and will next head north to Winston-Salem to face region foe Carolina University on Wednesday at 7 pm.
