Clinton Men Drop First Game of 2025 at Allen

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Clinton College men's basketball team dropped their first game of 2025 on Thursday falling 78-58 on the road at Allen University.

Junior guard Jordan Snipes Campbell led the bears with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal while forward Matthew Cleveland made his season debut and finished with 12 points and 5 rebounds.

The Yellow jackets of Allen got out to a big first half lead at home as they put up nearly 50 points in the first half en route to a 49-28 lead. Unfortunately, Clinton could get no closer than 17 points in the second half as they shot 30 percent from the floor and 17 percent from three. Allen shot 55 percent overall and 50 percent from three.

Junior center Devinir Garvey led Clinton with 8 rebounds along with 8 points and a steal while senior wing Jordan Maxwell tallied 8 points as well. Junior Tyler Smith and freshman Cori Miller combined for 12 points also.

Clinton falls to 7-5 overall and 3-5 in the NCCAA and will finally return home next Wednesday when they host region foe Fort Lauderdale Univ. at 7 pm.
