
WEST COLUMBIA, SC - The Clinton College men's basketball team cruised to a 99-76 win over SC Central Christian College on the road at Brookland Baptist in West Columbia Wednesday evening.
The win improves the Golden Bears to 7-3 overall and drops the first year Gladiator program to 0-5.
Leading the Clinton men was four players in double-digit scoring as freshman forward Cori Miller led the way with 24 points and 10 rebounds on 11 of 18 shooting. Fellow forward Devinir Garvey also recorded a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds with 2 assists, a steal and a block.
Clinton shot nearly 55 percent from the floor and 40 percent from three-point range led by point guard Jordan Snipes-Campbell's 20 points and 2 threes along with a career-high 12 assists and 2 steals. Fellow sophomore guard Karter Allen was the fourth Golden Bear in double-figures scoring 13 points with 5 assists, 4 rebiunds, a steal and a block.
Senior wing Jordan Maxwell also added 7 points and 9 rebounds with a block while guard Jordan Miller tallied 8 points and 2 steals off the bench.
The Bears return to action Friday evening on the road in Augusta against conference rival Paine College at 7 PM.
TFC 72, CLINTON 65
TOCCOA FALLS, GA - An undermanned Clinton squad traveled to north Georgia Monday evening missing their top two leading scorers out with injury. The absences led to 7-point defeat, 65-72 at the hands of NCCAA foe Toccoa Falls College.
Maxwell led the Bears with 23 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals while Cori Miller added 12 points and 4 rebounds. Garvey also played well defensively gathering 21 rebounds with 9 points and 2 steals while guards Jordan Miller and Taylan Hicks combined for 13 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 assists in the defeat.
