
Misenheimer, NC - The Clinton College men's basketball team fell 86-76 on the road at NCAA Div. III Pfeiffer University Saturday afternoon.
Junior guard Jordan Snipes Campbell led the Bears with 26 points on 12 of 16 shooting with 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
Pfeiffer took a 27-18 lead on the Bears at the 7 minute mark of the first half forcing a CC timeout. However, the Bears then went on an 11-5 run to get to within 3 points late in the half before PU grabbed a small 37-33 lead at halftime.
The Bears then tied the game at 41 with the Falcons early in the second half before Pfeiffer went on a 16-7 run to lead by nine with 12 minutes to play. Clinton then clawed back and got to within one point at 56-57 at the 10 minute mark, but PU then went on another run to increase their lead to 14 (72-58) at the 5 minute mark. Unfortunately, CC could get no closer than 7 points the rest of the way as they suffered just their second loss of the season.
Clinton shot over 48 percent for the game while the Falcons were at 47.5%. CC also shot 36 percent from three and forced 14 Pfeiffer turnovers. Others finishing in double-figures for the Bears include forwards Cori Miller and senior Jaden Scriven as they each tallied 10 points apiece. Junior guard Jordan Miller also added nine points while senior wing Jordan Maxwell posted 8 points with 5 rebounds, 4 steals and a block.
Forward Devinir Garvey also blocked three shots along with 4 points and 4 boards while junior guard Karter Allen and freshman forward Zion Kemp combined for 9 points and six rebounds off the bench.
Clinton falls to 6-2 with the tough defeat and will next return to action on Monday, December 2 when they head to the north Georgia area to play NCCAA foe Toccoa Falls College for a 7:00 pm tip.
