Shannon's 41 and Bell's Triple-Double Lead Clinton on Senior Night

ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Clinton College men's basketball team rolled to their 7th straight win by knocking off Atlantis University 125-98 on Senior Night Thursday evening from JH Martin Gymnasium.

The Golden Bears placed four seniors in double-figure scoring on the night led by guards Cam Shannon's career-high 41 points and RJ Bell's first career triple-double. Fellow senior guard Tyler Hammond also played well scoring 16 points with 4 assists and 3 steals.

Bell's triple double consisted of 13 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists while Shannon shot 15 of 21 from the floor and 7 of 11 from three-point range for 41 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals.

Shannon was also celebrated on the night by becoming the first player in school history with over 1,000 points in his career and he currently has over 1,800 points during his Bear tenure.

Clinton shot an impressive 51 percent in the first half en route to scoring 63 points and a 27-point halftime lead. Shannon scored 24 points in the half on 9 of 11 shooting. The second half saw the teams trade points until Cinton extended thier lead to 40 at 99-59 with 10 minutes to play. The Bears shot 54 percent for the game and 39 percent from three wjile Atlantis shot 48 percent overall but only 25.8 % from three.

Also playing well for the Golden Bears was senior forward Isaiah Stone with 12 points and 8 rebounds while senior reserve shooting guard Jimmy Brooks tallied 6 points. Guard Karter Allen and junior wing Jordan Maxwell also combined for 17 points on 7 of 11 shooting.

Clinton improves to 14-7 overall and will next head on the road to battle Wilberforce University on Tuesday in Ohio for a 6 PM tip.
