Shannon Named January Student Athlete of the Month

January Student Athlete of the Month -

Men's Basketball - Cameron Shannon

In the month of December, the Golden Bears men's basketball team played 7 games resulting in a 5-2 record. The men traveled to Kentucky where they played in back to back NAIA games against Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson. Both games resulted in a defeat for the Golden Bears. However, Clinton would bounce back to win 5 games in a row. The team was led by Cam Shannon who averaged 22.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists through this stretch of games. He recorded a double-double in 2 of these games marking his 4th of the season.

Shannon is currently 7th in NCCAA in scoring where he is averaging 20.6 points per game and is 14th in field goal percentage at 57.6% per game. This is the second straight season that Shannon is in the top 10 in scoring and top 15 in field goal percentage. He also is #1 in school history in scoring with 1761 career points. Congratulations to Cameron Shannon for being named the Male Student Athlete of the month of January.

Shannon's career goals after graduation is to play overseas and then eventually get into basketball training.

The person that inspires him the most is his mother while his favorite food is Pizza and he would love to have dinner with his grandfather over anyone else.

Shannon chose Clinton College because it was the only school that gave him an opportunity to play and he has since made the most of it.

His fondest memory at Clinton was when they won the championship in the 2021-2022 season.
