Clinton Men Put On Offensive Show in Rout of VU-Lynchburg

ROCK HILL, SC - The Clinton College men's basketball team put on an offensive clinic on Saturday rolling to a 138-100 rout of NCCAA foe VU-Lynchburg (Va.) from JH Martin Gymnasium for their 7th straight win.

Clinton was led by seven players in double-figure scoring including senior guard Cam Shannon's 25 points on 10 of 14 shooting and senior forward Isaiah Stone's double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds. Stone also added 4 assists, 3 steals and a block while Shannon recorded 8 rebounds and 5 assists and a block as well.

Freshman wing Isaiah Borders, pictured dunking, also scored 14 points on 5 of 9 shooting with 6 rebounds and a block. Junior wing Jordan Maxwell had a very good game also scoring 18 points on 8 of 12 shooting with 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and two steals.

Guards Paul Eromosele and sophomore Karter Allen each scored in double-figures also scoring 11 and 12 points respectively with the senior Eromosele adding 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals while Allen led the team with 6 assists.

Reserve guards, senior Tyler Hammond and freshman David Adeyeri combined for 19 points off the bench as well while Hammond added 4 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal.

Clinton scored a season-high 71 points in the first half on 58 percent shooting to take a 16-point lead at the break. The Golden Bears then scored 67 points in the second half on an efficient 28 of 46 shooting (nearly 61%) to outscore the Dragons 67-45 to get the 38-point win. VUL would get to within 14 points early in the second half, but that would be as close as they would get with Clinton stretching their lead to as much as 41 points.

Clinton improved to 13-7 on the season and will now remain home for the final time on Thursday, Feb. 8 when they host Atlantis University (FL) on Senior night at 7 pm.
