Clinton Men Roll Past UV-Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, VA - The Clinton College men's basketball team rolled to an easy 113-80 road win over South Region foe UVA-Lynchburg on Saturday.

Clinton scored 59 points in the first half en route to taking a 59-41 lead at the break. The Golden Bears then outscored the Dragons 54-39 in the second half to go on for the 33-point win. Clinton shot 60 percent overall for the game and nearly 43 percent from three while knocking down nine treys. CC was also 82 percent from the free-throw line in the win.

Senior guard Cam Shannon led Clinton with 26 points on 12 of 14 shooting as the Bears put four in double-figure scoring as he also added 4 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal. Among the trio scoring at least 20 points included senior guard RJ Bell and senior forward Isaiah Stone. Bell recorded 20 points with 8 rebounds and 2 assists while Stone added 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists on 8 of 9 shooting.

Guard Paul Eromosele then added 12 points off the bench along with 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and a block while wing Jacobi Simpson also scored 9 points off the bench. Guard Karter Allen also led Clinton with 5 assists along with 6 points while Isaiah Borders also had 5 assists with 4 boards and 4 points. Colin Cowan added 6 points and 6 rebounds as well.

Clinton improves to 10-7 overall with the win and 5-0 in the Region and will next return home to host Paine College on Friday night at 7 PM while their game against Carolina Christian on Saturday was cancelled.
