Clinton Men Fall on the road at Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The Clinton College men's basketball team fell 89-70 on Saturday on the road at NAIA foe Campbellsville University (Ky.).    

Although Campbellsville (12-2 record) earned an early lead, Clinton struck back and remained only a couple of points away from the lead trailing just 13-11 early on. CU would then go on an extended run to lead 33-15 with 6 minutes to play. At the end of the first half, the Tigers led the game 45-29.           

In the second half, after CU extended their lead to 20, Clinton would then come back and climb to within 9 points at the 9 minute mark of the half going on a 17-6 run to get to 64-55. Unfortunately, the Bears could not get within single digits the rest of the game falling to the Tigers.

Clinton (6-6) will next stay out in Kentucky to face Lindsey Wilson College at 2 PM on Sunday.

Leading the Golden Bears was guard Cam Shannon with 17 points and 8 rebounds along with 2 assists and 2 steals while Tyler Hammond and Colin Cowan each scored 11 points each off the bench.

Jordan Maxwell also played well scoring 7 points with a team-best 3 assists and 3 steals and 4 rebounds. Clinton shot 41 percent overall from the floor but just 22 percent from three-point range while also committing four less turnovers than the Tigers, 15-19.
