Clinton Steamrolls JWU 3-0

CHARLOTTE, NC - The Clinton College volleyball team rolled to an easy 3-0 win over USCAA foe, Johnson & Wales University (NC) on the road in Charlotte Thursday evening.

Clinton used 11 kills and hit .286 in the first set en route to a 25-14 win before absolutely crushing the Lady Cats in the second set 25-3 recording 9 kills with zero errors while hitting .391. The Lady Bears then hit 13 kills in the third set at a .303 clip to win it 25-16.

Clinton improves to 10-9 on the season with the win and will next go on the road to Augusta to battle conference foe Paine College on Monday evening.

Freshman setter Sierra Faulkner led the Bears with 28 assists and two aces along with six digs, a kill and a block while the defensive duo of libero Love Landon and senior DS Ashanti Washington combined for 22 digs and two assists.

Middle blockers Alexia Cunningham and freshman Monica Burns combined for 12 kills and 3 blocks with Cunningham hitting .636 with 8 kills. 

Junior Outside hitters Amoni Washington and Sierra Smith also combined for 20 kills and 17 digs with Smith registering a double-double of 11 kills and 13 digs with two aces and a block. Washington had 9 kills, 2 aces, and 4 digs.
