Jamir Cheek Named Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Clinton College

ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Clinton College athletic department and AD Vincent Robinson is proud to announce the hiring of Jamir Cheek as the new Head Men's Basketball Coach.

Cheek brings a winning pedigree and a deep connection to Clinton, having previously served as an assistant coach during the 2023–2024 season, where he played a key role in leading the Golden Bears to a South Region championship with an 8-0 record and an 18-win season overall that saw them place 4th in the NCCAA tournament. That season also consisted of a 9-game win streak and Region Player of the Year Cam Shannon.

Following his successful stint at Clinton, Cheek joined the coaching staff at NCAA Division II Tuskegee University for the 2024–2025 season, where he helped guide the Golden Tigers to the SIAC Conference Championship Game.

"Coach Cheek returns to Clinton with championship experience, proven leadership, and a passion for player development," commented Robinson. "We are excited to welcome him back to lead the next chapter of Golden Bears Basketball."

The Golden Bears are coming off an up-and-down season that was marred by injuries that still saw them go 13-12 overall and 8-4 at home.

Cheek can be reached at 347-954-1768 and at jcheek@clintoncollege.edu
