Vincent Robinson was named as the Director of Athletics for Clinton College in August 2023. He is entering his third season as the AD in the 2025-2026 academic year. In addition to his role as Athletic Director, Robinson also serves as the Athletic Compliance Officer.

During his two years at Clinton College, AD Robinson has transformed the athletic offerings from three to eleven programs. He has instituted three varsity sports: men's golf, and men's and women's cross country. He also established three junior varsity sports: women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball. Additionally, he added two co-ed varsity sports: archery and cycling. The introduction of junior varsity sports contributed approximately $1.25 million annually in additional revenue to the institution.

Under his leadership, facilities have seen significant upgrades, including the installation of new lockers equipped with TVs and a sound system. AD Robinson was unanimously selected as the Vice Chairperson of the South Region for the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). Academically, the Clinton College athletic department GPA rose from 2.4 to 3.1 following the implementation of a mandatory five-hour team study hall each week.

Before coming to Clinton, Robinson served as the Deputy Director of Athletics for Operations, Academics, Student Services, New Initiatives, and Special Projects at Miles College (AL) during the 2022-2023 academic year. Under his leadership, Miles College excelled academically, winning the Academic Commissioner’s Cup for having the top GPA in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). Nine of the ten athletic programs achieved GPAs over 3.0, with the tenth finishing at 2.9. He instituted a mandatory five-hour weekly team study hall for every athletic program and created the Mentors Program, pairing every junior student-athlete with a professional mentor in their field of study.

As Associate Head Coach of Men’s Basketball at Miles College, Robinson earned recognition for his recruiting abilities. He was named one of the 50 most impactful NCAA Division II assistant coaches by Silver Waves Media and was also honored as the top Division II HBCU assistant coach by the Minority Coaches Association. A noted skills developer, Robinson specialized in working with post players. From 2018-2023, Miles was the #1 ranked NCAA Division II defensive team in the nation. During this period, the team secured three SIAC championships under his mentorship.

Robinson is the founder of The Robinson School in Irvington, NJ, which he developed into one of the nation’s premier prep programs. He began his head coaching career at NIA Prep in Newark, NJ, finishing his inaugural season by winning the Apex School Prep Regional Tournament. Every student-athlete at NIA Prep during his tenure received a college scholarship. His 2009-2010 NIA Prep team was ranked No. 9 nationally by ESPN, and his 2014-2015 Robinson School team won the Postgraduate National Championship.

Robinson holds a head coaching record of 287-55, including eight conference championships and six Coach of the Year honors. Every student-athlete at The Robinson School received a scholarship under his leadership. Many of his former student-athletes have gone on to play professionally in the NBA G-League and overseas.

A native of Irvington, NJ, Robinson played collegiate basketball at Union County College and Rutgers University-Newark, where he led his team in scoring and rebounding from 1993 to 1995. He served as team captain during his junior and senior years and was one of only three players in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) ranked in the top five in both scoring and rebounding.

Robinson earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University-Newark in 2003 and a master’s certificate in Non-Profit Management in 2004. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Irvington High School (NJ) and founded the Vincent Robinson Basketball Academy Summer Camp in 2002, which teaches basketball fundamentals to youth ages 5-17 in New Jersey.

He is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and teaches financial literacy, credit repair, and business credit in his spare time. Robinson is the proud father of five children: Kimberly, Tiarah, Keyera, Taylor, and Jayden, and grandfather to three: Francesca (12), Kyla (8), and Omar (5).
